About Us

The Fed & Bed is located on Temora’s main street within a beautiful heritage building formerly known as The Federal Hotel.

Our Story

Where It All Began

After The Grenfell Hotel was destroyed by fire in 1901, the current solid brick building operating as The Federal Hotel, opened its doors for trading in 1912.  The building was stripped of its balcony and decorative lacework balustrade in the 1960s. Ironically, the building was in 1995, the victim of yet another fire and ceased operating as a hotel in 1996 when the hotel license was sold off.

This dynamic building has continued to morph into spaces that are useable and relevant to ensure its colourful legacy continues and is now home to The Fed & Bed Temora.

On the ground level, The Courtyard Cafe offers Toby’s Estate Coffee complimented by home baked goodness.  Dine in the ambience of the street facing dining room or in the discreetly placed spaces that make up                          The Courtyard and The Old Dining Room.

The first floor of the building consists of 16 basic and clean guest rooms, accommodating up to 38 guests in Twin, Queen, Triple or Family rooms. Bathroom amenities are shared, and a continental breakfast is included in your tariff.
